HS-XC-SL5529 7 kW Instant Electric Water Heater PCBA

HS-XC-SL5529 7 kW Instant Electric Water Heater PCBA from SUNSAM gives OEM buyers a split-board control solution for household shower and hot-water systems. AC 85–280 V input, configurable heater profiles, low-flow activation and constant-temperature control support different appliance designs.

The complete PCBA model is HS-XC-SL5529-C1.4. The control platform combines temperature adjustment, water-flow detection, heater-rating configuration, parameter memory, leakage protection and sensor fault monitoring.

Split-Board Control Design

The HS-XC-SL5529 uses a split-board structure for integration into instant electric water heaters. The design supports flexible positioning of the control and power sections inside different appliance housings.

Connectors, wiring, touch-panel dimensions and firmware functions can be adapted according to the customer’s heating element, enclosure and hydraulic system.

The control platform is suitable for product families requiring several heater ratings based on a common control design.

Rated 220 V and 7 kW Heating Control

The rated electrical specification is AC 220 V and 7 kW. The tested switch-mode power supply configuration operates from AC 85–280 V.

The sample completed eight hours of continuous operation at AC 280 V without abnormal performance. Final component ratings, PCB clearances, wiring, terminals and thermal performance must match the selected heating element.

The test report also lists a transformer-based power supply version operating from AC 85–265 V. The transformer and switch-mode versions represent separate hardware configurations and should not share the same final specification.

Configurable Heater Ratings from 3 to 7 kW

The HS-XC-SL5529 instant electric water heater control board provides five heater-rating profiles:

| Configuration Code | Heater Rating |

|---:|---:|

| 30 | 3 kW |

| 40 | 4 kW |

| 50 | 5 kW |

| 60 | 6 kW |

| 70 | 7 kW |

Profile 70 is selected as the default configuration.

Holding the Increase and Decrease keys for five seconds in standby opens the heater-rating configuration menu. The two adjustment keys allow the required profile to be selected.

Heater-rating configuration defines the connected physical heating element. The function does not represent unrestricted power adjustment during normal operation.

Three-Key Touch-Control Interface

The control interface contains three touch keys:

- Power

- Temperature Increase

- Temperature Decrease

The Power key requires a one-second press to turn the system on or off.

A short press on the Increase or Decrease key changes the set temperature step by step. A press lasting more than one second provides continuous temperature adjustment.

The touch interface can operate through a surface-mounted 4 mm glass panel or a 2 mm plastic panel. Appliance manufacturers can develop different front-panel graphics and housing designs around the same control platform.

An audible buzzer provides feedback during key operation. Buzzer frequency can be selected according to the confirmed component and customer requirements.

Temperature Settings from 30°C to 55°C

The adjustable outlet temperature range covers 30–55°C. A 50 kΩ NTC temperature sensor supports temperature measurement and control feedback.

Automatic calibration and parameter memory retain the constant-temperature settings after setup. The control program can also be adjusted according to the heating capacity, flow rate and required user interface.

Final temperature-control performance depends on the inlet temperature, water flow, heating element and complete appliance structure.

Low-Flow Activation

The controller starts heating when the detected water flow reaches approximately 1.4 L/min. Heating stops when the flow decreases to approximately 1.2 L/min.

The defined start and stop thresholds coordinate heating operation with actual water demand. Final flow performance depends on the flow sensor, inlet pressure, pipeline design and installation conditions.

Temperature-Control Performance

According to the sample test report, measured outlet temperatures remained within approximately ±2°C at the recorded settings.

Test conditions included an inlet water temperature of 25°C and flow rates of 1.5 L/min and 3 L/min. Recorded stabilization times ranged from approximately 6 to 20 seconds after initial learning and calibration.

Recorded Temperature-Control Results

| Flow Rate | Set Temperature | Measured Temperature | Stabilization Time |

|---|---:|---:|---:|

| 1.5 L/min | 36°C | 35–37°C | 15–20 s |

| 1.5 L/min | 40°C | 40–42°C | 10–15 s |

| 1.5 L/min | 45°C | 44–46°C | 8–12 s |

| 1.5 L/min | 48°C | 48–50°C | 6–9 s |

| 3 L/min | 36°C | 36–37°C | 15–20 s |

| 3 L/min | 40°C | 39–42°C | 8–12 s |

| 3 L/min | 45°C | 44–46°C | 8–10 s |

| 3 L/min | 48°C | 47–49°C | 6–8 s |

Recorded results apply only to the specified sample conditions. Final performance requires verification with the customer’s heating element and hydraulic system.

Over-Temperature and Leakage Protection

The 7 kW water heater PCBA provides protection functions for overheating, electrical leakage and outlet temperature sensor faults.

Available functions include:

- Outlet over-temperature protection

- Leakage fault protection

- Outlet temperature sensor open-circuit detection

- Outlet temperature sensor short-circuit detection

- Heating cut-off during detected faults

- Audible fault alarm

- Automatic recovery for supported fault conditions

E1 Over-Temperature Protection

When the detected temperature reaches or exceeds 65°C, E1 protection stops heating and activates the alarm. Normal operation automatically resumes after the temperature falls below 55°C.

E2 Leakage Protection

A detected leakage fault activates the alarm and stops heating. Normal operation requires fault clearance and a power cycle.

The designed leakage protection range is 15–30 mA. The tested sample recorded a trip current of 23 mA.

E4 Outlet Temperature Sensor Fault

An outlet temperature sensor open-circuit or short-circuit condition activates a flashing alarm and stops heating. Normal operation automatically resumes after the fault is cleared.
