HS-DHH-7042 6-Key Instant Electric Water Heater PCBA from SUNSAM gives OEM buyers a dual-board control solution for household instant water heaters. Eight heating levels, AC 85–280 V input, infrared remote operation and constant-temperature control support customized water-heating products.
The complete system combines power board HS-DHH-EPC13-TV-XH5-P1.3C with display board HS-DHH-7042-6KEY-C1.0. A BYD control chip manages temperature, water flow, heating output, display information, fault monitoring and user commands.
The power board controls the heating load, while the display board manages touch-key input, digital information and operating-mode selection.
The dual-board structure supports flexible installation inside different water heater housings. Connector positions, wiring, display layouts and firmware functions can be adjusted according to the complete appliance design.
The control platform uses:
- HS-DHH-EPC13-TV-XH5-P1.3C power board
- HS-DHH-7042-6KEY-C1.0 display board
- BYD control chip
- Infrared receiver
- 3+2-wire water flow switch
- 50 kΩ NTC temperature sensors
- Two-wire leakage detection coil
The tested switch-mode power supply version operates from AC 85–280 V. The sample completed eight hours of continuous operation at AC 280 V without abnormal performance.
The wide input range supports water heater projects intended for regions with varying mains-voltage conditions. Final component ratings, electrical clearances and safety requirements must match the destination market.
The test report also lists a transformer-based version operating from AC 180–265 V. The transformer and switch-mode configurations represent separate hardware versions. Customers should confirm the required version before prototype production.
The HS-DHH-7042 instant electric water heater control board provides eight manual heating levels:
| Heating Level | Output Power |
|---|---:|
| Level 1 | 750 W |
| Level 2 | 1,500 W |
| Level 3 | 2,250 W |
| Level 4 | 3,000 W |
| Level 5 | 3,700 W |
| Level 6 | 4,500 W |
| Level 7 | 5,200 W |
| Level 8 | 6,100 W |
Manual power-level control allows users to select a heating output according to water temperature, water flow and seasonal demand.
The controller also supports P4, P5 and P6 rated-power profiles. The test report confirms P6 as a 6,000 W configuration. P4 and P5 power mappings require confirmation before production.
The 6,100 W value represents the eighth-level control value recorded in the report, while P6 represents the nominal 6,000 W configuration.
Two heating modes are available:
- Constant-Temperature Mode
- Manual Power-Level Mode
The adjustable temperature range covers 30–55°C. The default start-up temperature is 38°C.
A dedicated Preset Temperature key cycles through four commonly used settings:
- 38°C
- 39°C
- 40°C
- 42°C
A dedicated Constant-Temperature key activates automatic temperature regulation. The Heating Level key allows users to select one of the eight manual output levels.
Automatic calibration and memory functions retain the selected temperature and rated-power configuration after setup.
The display board contains six touch keys:
- K1: Heating Level
- K2: Constant Temperature
- K3: Preset Temperature
- K4: Increase
- K5: Power
- K6: Decrease
Short presses provide single-step temperature adjustment. Long presses lasting more than one second provide continuous adjustment.
Holding the Increase and Decrease keys for five seconds opens the P4, P5 and P6 power-configuration menu.
The touch interface can operate through a surface-mounted 4 mm glass panel or a 2 mm plastic panel. Appliance manufacturers can develop different front-panel materials, graphics and layouts around the control system.
The control system supports an infrared receiver and matching remote controller. Remote operation can provide access to selected functions without direct contact with the front panel.
Remote-control distance, key layout and infrared coding are not specified in the sample report. Final remote functions require confirmation during firmware and product development.
The remote controller, receiver, wiring and other accessories should be listed separately in the final quotation.
The controller starts heating when the detected water flow reaches approximately 1.2 L/min. Heating stops when the flow decreases to approximately 1.0 L/min.
A 3+2-wire water flow switch provides the flow signal. The display can show water-flow information and distinguish between higher and lower flow conditions.
Final activation performance depends on inlet water pressure, flow-switch characteristics, pipeline structure, heating assembly and installation conditions.
The digital screen performs a full-display self-test after power connection. The screen also shows the selected power profile before entering the power-off state.
After start-up, the display can present:
- Inlet water temperature
- Actual outlet water temperature
- Set temperature
- Water flow rate
- Input voltage
- Constant-temperature mode
- Heating level
- Power status
- Heating or flame animation
- Shower droplet animation
- High or low water-flow indication
- Fault codes
The heating and shower icons remain off when no heating output is active. Dynamic icons provide a clear visual indication during normal heating operation.
The controller enters sleep mode after approximately 30 seconds in standby. Any key operation or detected water flow can wake the control system.
After power connection, the controller remains in the power-off state until a start command is received. The memory function retains the selected temperature and rated-power configuration.
The control system uses inlet and outlet temperature sensors for temperature measurement and fault monitoring.
According to the sample test report, measured outlet temperatures remained within approximately ±2°C at the recorded settings. Test conditions included an inlet water temperature of 26°C and flow rates of 1.5 L/min and 3 L/min.
Recorded stabilization times ranged from approximately 5 to 20 seconds after initial learning and calibration.
| Flow Rate | Set Temperature | Measured Temperature | Stabilization Time |
|---|---:|---:|---:|
| 1.5 L/min | 30°C | 29–31°C | 15–20 s |
| 1.5 L/min | 36°C | 35–38°C | 15–20 s |
| 1.5 L/min | 40°C | 39–41°C | 12–15 s |
| 1.5 L/min | 45°C | 44–47°C | 12–15 s |
| 1.5 L/min | 48°C | 47–50°C | 8–10 s |
| 3 L/min | 30°C | 29–31°C | 10–12 s |
| 3 L/min | 36°C | 35–37°C | 15–20 s |
| 3 L/min | 40°C | 39–41°C | 8–10 s |
| 3 L/min | 45°C | 44–46°C | 8–12 s |
| 3 L/min | 48°C | 47–49°C | 5–6 s |
Final temperature accuracy and stabilization time depend on inlet water temperature, water flow, heating capacity and the complete appliance structure.
The instant electric water heater PCBA provides protection functions for over-temperature, leakage and temperature sensor faults.
Available functions include:
- Outlet over-temperature protection
- Leakage fault protection
- Inlet temperature sensor open-circuit detection
- Inlet temperature sensor short-circuit detection
- Outlet temperature sensor open-circuit detection
- Outlet temperature sensor short-circuit detection
- Heating cut-off during detected faults
- Audible fault alarm
- Fault-code display
- Automatic recovery for supported fault conditions
When the detected temperature reaches or exceeds 63°C, E1 protection stops heating and activates the alarm. Heating resumes after the temperature falls to 50°C.
A detected leakage fault stops heating and activates the alarm. Normal operation requires fault repair and a system restart.
The designed leakage protection range is 15–30 mA. The tested sample recorded a trip current between 20 and 22 mA using a two-wire leakage detection coil.
An inlet temperature sensor open-circuit or short-circuit condition stops heating and activates the alarm. Normal heating automatically resumes after the fault is repaired.
An outlet temperature sensor open-circuit or short-circuit condition stops heating and activates the alarm. Normal heating automatically resumes after the fault is repaired.
