CT12350 Instant Electric Water Heater PCBA


The CT12350 Instant electric water heater PCBA is an integrated control solution developed for 220 V, 6 kW instant water-heating systems. It combines staged heating control, water-flow detection, temperature regulation, LED display control and multiple fault-protection functions on one PCBA.


Designed for household instant electric water heaters and customized hot-water appliances, the CT12350 supports hardware, firmware, display and interface customization for different OEM and ODM projects.


6 kW Heating Control with Seven Power Levels


The tested switch-mode power supply version operates from AC 150–280 V at 50 Hz. At the rated voltage of AC 220 V, the PCBA supports a maximum heating load of 6,000 W and controls three heating output groups.


Seven power levels are available to provide more flexible temperature regulation:


- Level 1: 1,400 W

- Level 2: 2,200 W

- Level 3: 2,400 W

- Level 4: 3,600 W

- Level 5: 3,800 W

- Level 6: 4,600 W

- Level 7: 6,000 W


The multi-level heating design allows the controller to select a suitable output according to the operating mode, water temperature and heating demand.


Intelligent Constant-Temperature Control


The CT12350 water heater control board provides an adjustable temperature range of 30–55°C. A 50 kΩ NTC temperature sensor is used for temperature detection and control feedback.


In AI mode, the PCBA automatically selects a suitable power level and target temperature according to the inlet water temperature. The programmed AI temperature settings range from 39°C to 45°C under the inlet-temperature conditions recorded in the test report.


Three temperature modes are also available for convenient operation:


- Child Mode: 38°C

- Adult Mode: 42°C

- Senior Mode: 45°C


The controller supports automatic calibration and memory of constant-temperature parameters. Based on the recorded sample tests at an inlet temperature of 25°C and flow rates of 1.5 L/min and 3 L/min, the measured outlet temperature remained within approximately ±2°C at the tested setpoints.


Water-Flow Activation and Standby Control


The PCBA starts the heating control process when the detected water flow reaches approximately 1.5 L/min. Heating stops when the flow decreases to approximately 1.3 L/min.


When no water flow is detected, the controller enters standby after approximately two seconds. The display can be reactivated by pressing a key or restoring the water flow. This control logic helps coordinate heating operation with the actual water demand.


Touch Control and LED Display


The CT12350 Instant electric water heater PCBA provides five main control keys:


- Power

- Temperature or power increase

- Temperature or power decrease

- AI

- Mode selection


The touch-control interface can operate through a surface-mounted 4 mm glass panel or a 2 mm plastic panel, allowing the appliance manufacturer to develop different front-panel designs.


The LED display can present:


- Outlet water temperature

- Set temperature

- Operating time

- Heating status

- Power-on status

- Selected operating mode

- Fault codes


The display icons and interface layout can be adjusted according to the product appearance and customer requirements.


Multiple Fault-Protection Functions


The CT12350 includes several control and fault-diagnosis functions for instant electric water heater applications.


When the outlet temperature reaches 63°C, the controller automatically reduces the heating output by one power level. If the temperature reaches or exceeds 65°C, the E4 over-temperature alarm is activated and heating stops. Normal operation can resume after the temperature falls below 55°C.


The controller also supports:


- E1 leakage fault alarm and heating cut-off

- E2 outlet temperature sensor open-circuit or short-circuit protection

- Automatic recovery after the temperature sensor fault is cleared

- Fault-code display for easier inspection and maintenance


Final protection performance depends on the complete appliance design, sensors, wiring, heating system and other safety components.

Sample Testing and Performance Verification


During sample verification, the switch-mode power supply version operated continuously for eight hours at AC 280 V without abnormal performance. The system also operated for eight hours under a test environment of 65°C and 90% relative humidity.


These results relate to the tested sample and specified test conditions. Final electrical, environmental and safety specifications should be verified again after the PCBA is integrated into the customer’s complete water heater.
