HS-SH-5534 Instant Electric Water Heater PCBA for 3–7 kW Systems

HS-SH-5534 Instant Electric Water Heater PCBA from SUNSAM gives OEM buyers a configurable control solution for 3–7 kW instant water heaters. AC 85–280 V input, six-key touch control, two heating modes and multiple power settings support household and export-oriented water heater development.

The HS-SH-5534-GL-V1.0 integrated control board combines water-flow detection, temperature regulation, heating-power control, touch operation, parameter memory and fault monitoring. Hardware and firmware functions can also be adapted according to the appliance structure and target application.

One Control Platform for 3–7 kW Heating Systems

The HS-SH-5534 supports heating elements rated from 3 to 7 kW. Engineers can select the physical heater rating and then configure an actual output level within the permitted power range.

The default heater setting is 6 kW. Available configurations include:

| Heater Rating | Selectable Heating Power |

|---|---|

| 3 kW | 3 kW |

| 4 kW | 3 or 4 kW |

| 5 kW | 3, 4 or 5 kW |

| 6 kW | 3, 4, 5 or 6 kW |

| 7 kW | 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 kW |

A long press on the Decrease and Power keys opens the heater-rating configuration menu. A long press on the Decrease and Increase keys opens the actual heating-power selection menu.

The configurable platform allows one water heater control board to support several appliance power versions. Final output must remain within the rated capacity of the heating element, wiring, terminals and other power components.

Wide-Voltage Switch-Mode Power Supply

The tested switch-mode power supply version operates from AC 85–280 V. The wide input range supports water heater projects intended for markets with varying mains-voltage conditions.

The sample operated continuously for eight hours at AC 280 V without abnormal performance. Final voltage ratings, electrical clearances, component specifications and applicable safety standards require confirmation for every complete appliance.

The test report also lists a transformer-based version with an AC 85–265 V input range. The transformer-based and switch-mode versions represent different hardware configurations and should not share the same product specification.

Constant-Temperature and Stepped-Power Heating

The HS-SH-5534 Instant Electric Water Heater PCBA supports two heating-control methods:

- Constant-temperature heating

- Stepped-power heating

The adjustable temperature range covers 30–55°C. A dedicated Power Level key allows users to enter or exit stepped-power heating mode.

The control system also provides two preset temperature keys:

- 38°C preset

- 42°C preset

The two shortcuts offer quick access to commonly used water temperatures. Increase and Decrease keys support single-step adjustment and continuous adjustment through long-press operation.

Six-Key Touch-Control Interface

The control interface contains six touch keys:

- Power

- Increase

- Decrease

- 38°C preset

- 42°C preset

- Power Level

The touch keys can operate through a surface-mounted 4 mm glass panel or a 2 mm plastic panel. Appliance manufacturers can therefore develop different front-panel materials, key layouts and exterior designs around the same control platform.

An audible buzzer provides feedback during key operation and fault alarms. Display graphics, icons and interface layouts can be customized according to project requirements.

Low-Flow Activation and Water-Flow Control

The water heater PCBA starts heating when the detected water flow reaches approximately 1.4 L/min. Heating stops when the flow decreases to approximately 1.2 L/min.

The defined start and stop thresholds help coordinate heating output with actual water demand. Final activation performance depends on the flow sensor, inlet pressure, pipeline design, heating assembly and installation environment.

Temperature Detection and Parameter Memory

The control system uses a 50 kΩ NTC temperature sensor for temperature measurement. Automatic calibration and memory functions retain constant-temperature control parameters after setup.

According to the sample test report, the measured outlet-temperature deviation remained within approximately ±2°C at the recorded test points. Test conditions included an inlet water temperature of 25°C and flow rates of 1.5 L/min and 3 L/min.

Recorded stabilization times ranged from approximately 6 to 20 seconds after initial learning and calibration.

Recorded Temperature-Control Results

| Flow Rate | Set Temperature | Measured Temperature | Stabilization Time |

|---|---:|---:|---:|

| 1.5 L/min | 36°C | 35–37°C | 15–20 s |

| 1.5 L/min | 40°C | 40–42°C | 10–15 s |

| 1.5 L/min | 45°C | 44–46°C | 8–12 s |

| 1.5 L/min | 48°C | 48–50°C | 6–9 s |

| 3 L/min | 36°C | 36–37°C | 15–20 s |

| 3 L/min | 40°C | 39–42°C | 8–12 s |

| 3 L/min | 45°C | 44–46°C | 8–10 s |

| 3 L/min | 48°C | 47–49°C | 6–8 s |

Final temperature-control performance depends on inlet water temperature, water flow, heating capacity and the complete appliance structure.

Multiple Protection Functions

The instant electric water heater control board provides fault monitoring for temperature sensors, overheating and electrical leakage.

Available protection functions include:

- Outlet water over-temperature protection

- Leakage fault protection

- Outlet temperature sensor open-circuit detection

- Outlet temperature sensor short-circuit detection

- Heating cut-off during detected faults

- Audible fault alarm

- Fault-code indication

- Automatic recovery for supported fault conditions

When the outlet temperature reaches or exceeds 65°C, E1 protection activates the alarm and stops heating. Normal operation resumes automatically after the temperature falls below 55°C.

An outlet temperature sensor open-circuit or short-circuit condition activates E4 protection. The controller flashes the fault indication, sounds the alarm and stops heating until the fault is cleared.

The leakage protection operating range is 15–30 mA. The tested sample recorded a leakage trip current of 23 mA. Complete-unit safety validation remains necessary before mass production.
